Client Project
Storyboard / Script — I began with using a provided slide deck of content to write a text-based storyboard. Being that this lesson is geared toward middle and high school learners, I decided to give this lesson a video game like feel to keep learners engaged. In this storyboard I preplanned the audio script, onscreen text, and basic programming notes to ensure a seamless development.
Audio — Next, I used WellSaidLabs.com to collect audio that sounded as natural as possible. While creating the audio, I noticed that some of my scripts needed to be broken apart or altered to match the natural intonation of a human voice. In addition, to help me stay organized, the audio file name was added to the storyboard as it was downloaded.
Design & Development — During the design stage, because I already storyboarded, I already had an idea of what I wanted the look and feel of the lesson to be. I used Vyond to create custom animations and added various sound effects to keep the learners engaged. I put together the visual and audio pieces of the project, built interactions and tested the final product to ensure a seamless experience. In addition, all K12 lessons were built with accessibility in mind, therefore every lesson has right click audio (or hover for younger grades) and closed captioning.
